UNITS
1. Do units carry over into the following year if they are not used?
A member can only carry over 75% of whatever units are remaining in any year. 25% of the units are lost. Units that are forfeited at the end of the year can not be reinstated.
2. Can a member borrow units from the following year?
Yes, members can borrow up to 25% of the following year's units for use in the current year.
3. Do the units or price per unit increase each year?
The units remain the same, but the increase or decrease of price per unit will be decided on by the board of Trustees, however Golf Resorts Club remains quite constant.
4. What is a unit?
An investment in the Golf Resorts Club constitutes a 'units' value. Each week is allocated a 'units' requirement, based on the season within which it falls.
5. How many units does a member get each year?
The amount of units purchased are re-allocated to members on an annual basis. Members may increase their portfolio at any stage, should their initial purchase become insufficient for their holiday needs.
6. Are my units affected by inflation?
Units are inflation proof, for example, if 50 units are required for a full week at Zimbali at present, 50 units will always be required.
7. How many homes are available for members to holiday at?

LEVIES and COSTS
1. What is APL (Annual Provisional Levy)?
See Club Constitution Sect 2.2.3.7: The amount determined by the Management Company to cover the estimated costs of the Resort Levies (maintenance of the Scheme Accommodation) and the management and administration costs incurred in the running of the Club and/or Management Company or otherwise which may arise as a result of the implementation of the Affiliation Agreement or the Scheme and Scheme Accommodation.
2. Is there an initial joining fee?
The member is liable for an initial once-off administration fee will be charged to join Golf Resorts Club.
3. Why must members pay Annual Provisional Levies (APL)?
These are used for the general upkeep and maintenance of the Golf Resorts portfolio as follows:
- Electricity and water
- Golf cart maintenance & replacement reserve
- Garden services
- Housekeeping fees
- Insurance
- SABC & DSTV
- Actual resort levies (paid to the golf estate)
- Pool maintenance
- Rates & Taxes
- Repairs & Maintenance
- Course Subs
- Refurbishment provision
- Refurbishment reserve interior
- Management fee (on site)
- Club overheads (publications etc.)
4. Is a member liable for the Estate Levies when booking a holiday?
When booking a holiday, the Golf Resorts Club Resort Accommodation levy required for that week, at the specific Estate, is deducted from the members APL, which is paid at the beginning of the year. Each full week at each resort is allocated a levy value. A midweek is worth 50% of the allocated "Full Week" Levy. A weekend is worth 50% of the allocated "Full Week" Levy. 5. Can a member carry over Annual Provisional Levy paid, into the following year?
A member will lose 25% of whatever balance remains unless he has utilized all his points in that year. With the exception of: Clause 6.9 of Regulations states "If all members units have been used and he is unable to make a booking, then 100% of his provisional levy for that year can be carried forward for a further 12 months"
6. How is the Annual Provisional Levy calculated?
APL is calculated pro-rata based on the amount of units that members own, and once paid it is kept in credit.
RESERVATIONS / BOOKINGS1. How do I make a booking?
All reservations are done by us at Club Leisure Group head office. We have a dedicated team who are available for our members to consult with. How much notice is a member to give when booking for peak season?
A member can book up to one year (52 weeks) in advance. There is no set stipulation for minimum requirements on peak bookings, but based on first come first served. All bookings are subject to availability. Bookings should be done ahead of time, especially if there are school holidays to take into consideration. Reservations are made on a first-come-first-serve basis and there is no waiting list.
3. How can a member check availability of houses themselves?
A member can login on the website and select area, estate and date they wish to go. This will then search for availability. Please contact reservations department if you have any queries or if you want to confirm a booking.
4. Once a booking has been made, do you get a proof of the booking?
A Guest Certificate is issued and sent to the member, with every booking confirmed.
5. Can the member make reservations for family and friends?
Yes, as member can make a booking on this account for whomever he chooses, however this must be followed by a written letter to Golf Resorts Club, saying you are allowing family or friends to use your units. There are only 4 (four) name changes allowed to be made to a member guest certificate.
6. What periods are available for booking?
Members may only make use of weekend and midweek splits during out-of-season periods and full weeks must be booked during in-season periods. Please view Annual Levy Fees form to view the holiday calendar breakdown.
7. How are my units allocated, when I make my booking?
Upon booking, the required number of units are deducted from the members annual allocation. If a member has used all their units for the year, they are able to borrow units from the following year.
8. What happens if a member can not make their reservation, can a non-member take their place?
Yes, as member, friends and family are allowed to use your reservation, if you are unable to fulfill it, however this must be followed by a written letter to Golf Resorts Club, saying you are allowing family or friends to use your units. The member will be is responsible for fines of any kind imposed at any of the estates. Please ensure that all guests adhere to house rules, traffic and speed control of each estate.
GREEN FEES and GOLF CARTS1. Is there a cart in working condition at each unit, including the timeshare units?
No, not all Estates are golfing estates, and therefore do not have golf carts available. Majority of our Golf Resorts Club estates do however have a golf cart available for member usage. Specific terms & conditions must be adhered to. Please ensure that all guests adhere to house rules, traffic and speed control of each estate.
2. Do members get discount at the Estates for green fees?
Please contact the relevant Pro Shop before making your reservation, to enquire about the Golf Resorts Club member green fee. Golf Resorts Club does try and maintain an updated Green Fee chart with the costs and savings, however these are subject to change. View Green Fees for more information.
3. Do members get discounts on additional carts, and would a renter get the same discounts?
There are no discounts on the second hired carts.
4. What is the policy if a member can not play golf?
Golf Resorts Club cannot be held responsible for members not getting playing time on the courses. We book the accommodation and not the golf tee times. Please note the telephone numbers of The Pro Shops are supplied with the booking confirmation. We recommend you book your tee times in advance, to avoid disappointment. Please be aware that some Estates have a strict cancellation policy for tee times, please ensure you are aware of the Estate policies.
RECIPROCITY AGREEMENT/INTERNATIONAL HOLIDAYS1. Is there a link to Premium Vacation Club?
There is a reciprocity agreement in place. Please view Reciprocity section on our website for more details.
2. What additional costs are there when exchanging via Premier Vacation Club, for international and local?
There are no exchange fees. The Golf Resorts Club member will pay the user levy for the resort that they book. The Golf Resorts Club member will pay the same international user levy amounts that the Premier Vacation Club members pay.
CONVERSIONS1. Can conversions of timeshare weeks be done?
Currently there are no conversions of any kind allowed. We may look at selected resorts later, but there is no system in place currently.
GENERAL1. Will the members get a resort directory each year?
Members will get a brochure and resort directory on sign up. However updated details can be viewed under Estates on our website.
2. If members purchase in a group membership, do you require all the names and details, or just a delegated person?
The membership will be registered with all the names but the membership certificate will be in the first name of the contract. See Clause 2.9 of Regulations.
3. How is GRC registered?
As a non-profit voluntary association. See Clause 3 of the Constitution.
4. Where is the stock of GRC kept?
Stock is held by Golf Resorts Properties, and is currently bonded. GRC SA will own membership in GRC, share in GR Properties and will own new properties directly in the name of Golf Resorts Club (SA) directly.
